Come celebrate local history and those who preserve it!

Every year, the Eagle County Historical Society and the Eagle Valley Library District’s Local History Department select recipients who demonstrate significant preservation efforts here in Eagle County. This year, we are honoring local author and recent graduate of Vail Christian High School, Malcolm Osborn, and educator, Steve O’Neil. Mr. Osborn, with support from Mr. O’Neil, transformed his research into a book, The History of Belden, Colorado and a Biography of Judge David Douglas Belden, available at all branches and online on our digital archive.

In addition to the award ceremony, journalist and author John LaConte will be discussing his new book, Notorious Hunter Sir St. George Gore: Deadly Legacy in Colorado, also available through the library.

Light refreshments will be served. Come enjoy a day celebrating Local History!
