Mission

We seek to build an endowment of sizable financial resources to benefit the facilities, collections, and programs of the Eagle Valley Library District with an annual bequest of the interest generated from astutely investing those funds. The amount targeted to achieve prior to making a grant to the District is $500,000.00.

Vision

Our vision is to be a foundation striving to develop the spaces, materials, and events that promote literacy, learning, and life-long use and enjoyment of libraries.

Development

The Foundation is a quiet option for supporting the work of the Eagle Valley Library District. It is a vehicle that is recommended to individuals and organizations seeking to make significant donations and to receive tax benefits. It is to support the future of the Eagle Valley Library District. An alternate way to support library programs is The Friends of the Eagle Valley Library District. By becoming a member of the Friends, funds are raised to benefit ongoing programs offered by the District, particularly, The Summer Reading Program for children.

The Eagle Valley Library District Foundation was formed in April, 1994 as a tax-exempt 501(a) entity under section 501(c) (3), charitable non-profit organization. Its first initiative was to raise funds to enhance educational technology and furnishings in the construction of regional libraries in Avon and Eagle, such as wall murals in the children’s areas, and fireplaces in reading areas. Charter members who contributed $125.00 or more are recognized on plaques hanging in the Avon and Eagle Libraries. Nearly $155,000.00 was raised for those building projects.
